General Reptiles

My name is Michael Walker, and i have been a breeder of various reptiles for over 15 years. I have had a fascination with nature and all animals in general for the most part of my life. Reptiles in particular never fail to capture my attention. The genetic makeup of reptiles in general is amazing. I believe animals like turtles and crocodiles may hold secrets to reverse aging. There is much that could be said about that particular topic, but for now my cause is to educate hobbyists on methods and tricks for successfully breeding various reptiles. Growing up, i never had anyone to turn to with help me with problematic reptile issues. I feel that there is  so much that could be said about reptiles, and its impossible to cover all the information in a simple blog. It could take a person a whole lifetime to fully cover each reptile.

One must be fairly intelligent to understand basic genes and mathematical probabilities when breeding reptiles. I think breeding reptiles is a interesting hobby. I have learned a lot about science, math, and genetics as a result of my interest for reptiles. Many people remain oblivious to the new discoveries made each year. The term morph refers to the word mutation, and there are countless mutations being selectively breed at any given time. A common morph that many have heard of is albino. It is also important to know what the word "het" means, so to eliminate confusion "het" simply means, that the animal does not show the gene visibly, but does carry the gene in the DNA. An example, one could either have an albino snake or a het albino.. There are some animals out there that have gone polymorphic, and contain five or more genes.

I will most likely add-to and edit this blog over the next couple of weeks. Please remember that i have a hard time spelling and producing these blogs. I dont spell very well, and my sentece structure needs work. Keep that in mind as you read through my blogs. I will gladly talk further on topics or answer questions. If you would like me to cover a reptile tell me and i will spend an entire blog talking about each animal.

Check the link below if you are interested in learning more about reptile morphs and prices. This is one of my favorite sites to look for reptile news.
